Below are ready-to-use WhatsApp template examples for all 8 Referbro touchpoints. Copy and customize these for your brand, then create them on your WhatsApp provider's platform.

  Reward Notification variables depend on the configured referrer reward type:

  * **Gift Card**: Use `{{REFERRER_NAME}}`, `{{GIFT_CODE}}`, `{{PRODUCT_NAME}}`, `{{GIFT_URL}}`
  * **Discount Code (Flat/Percentage)**: Use `{{REFERRER_NAME}}`, `{{DISCOUNT_CODE}}`, `{{DISCOUNT_VALUE}}`, `{{DISCOUNT_URL}}`
  * **Store Credit**: Use `{{REFERRER_NAME}}`, `{{CREDIT_AMOUNT}}`, `{{CURRENCY_CODE}}`, `{{BALANCE_AFTER}}`

  Do not mix gift and discount placeholders in the same template unless your flow guarantees both sets are present.

## CTA Button Configuration

A Call-To-Action (CTA) URL button allows your customers to seamlessly share a customized message provided by your brand with a single tap. **This is applicable to all templates** in the library.

When creating templates in your WhatsApp provider (e.g., Meta, Pragma), configure a **URL Button**:

* **Button Text:** `Share on WhatsApp` (or similar)
* **Base URL:** `https://server.referbro.com/whatsapp/share?referralCode=`
* **URL Variable (e.g., `{{1}}`):** This parameter needs to be mapped like `button.url.0.1` in your JSON parameter mapping, using `{{REFERRAL_CODE}}` (and optionally `&source=...`).

  The exact parameter mapping format changes based on your specific WhatsApp provider (e.g., Meta vs. Pragma). Please check your provider's setup documentation on how to correctly map button URL fields in your JSON payload.

## Tips for Writing Templates

* **Do not start or end with a variable** — Avoid placeholders like `{{1}}` at the beginning or end of text; keep clear context before and after each variable.
* **Number variables sequentially** — Always use placeholders in chronological order (`{{1}}`, then `{{2}}`, then `{{3}}`, etc.). Never use `{{2}}` before `{{1}}`.
* **Separate nearby variables** — Do not place placeholders back-to-back (for example, `{{1}} {{2}}`). Add words or punctuation between them so intent is clear.
* **Body length limit: 1,024 characters max** — Keep message bodies within Meta's limit to avoid approval issues.
* **Header length limit: 60 characters max** — Keep headers concise and compliant.
* **Button length limit: 25 characters per button** — Keep CTA labels short and readable.
* **Use emojis sparingly** — 1–2 per message adds personality. More than that looks spammy.
* **Include a clear CTA** — Every message should end with a link or button to take action.
* **Personalize with `{{FIRST_NAME}}`** — Messages with the customer's name have significantly higher engagement.
* **Track sources with `&source=`** — Append `&source=touchpoint_name` to your referral links to see which messages drive the most conversions in Analytics.
